‘A Healing Heart’ is a compilation gathering together the ten quietest moments from Dervish’s fifteen year history.   The band are feted the world over for the vibrancy and intensity of their performances, but its not all bodhrans and bombast and this record features a larger number of songs than is usual on a Dervish record and serves as an ideal introduction to the band’s music. Highlighting the special magic that is shot through Cathy Jordan’s hauntingly intense vocals this is a ‘chill’ album with a difference.   Although it is the band’s mellowest release to date, there is at its heart a warmth and a solice, and a healing power which will soothe your soul. Since their last cd release ‘Sprit’ Dervish have been busy touring and playing around the world. Their new cd is a compilation described as ‘A rare selection of 10 classic songs and tunes revealing the quieter side of Dervish’. A beautiful relaxing collection to play at the end of a hard day.
