From packed auditoriums in the Holy Land to Brazil for ‘Rock in Rio’ in front of a two hundred and forty thousand-strong crowd, Dervish are without a doubt, one of the world’s finest Irish bands.

Formed in 1989 by five musicians - Liam Kelly, Shane Mitchell, Martin McGinley, Brian McDonagh and Michael Holmes – the group recorded an album of local music under the name ‘The Boys of Sligo’ to much acclaim. In 1990 they were joined by Cathy Jordan – widely regarded as one of the finest traditional singers in Ireland – renamed themselves and haven’t looked back since.  If you like Irish music, this is one to watch.
